 Skill level: Intermediate

(Pattern Translated for the beginner)

SIZE: Directions for sweater sizes:

Small (41) (Medium (45), Large (49), X-Large (53)).

Finished bust/chest measurements: 41 (45, 49, 53)".

MATERIALS
Use (8 oz. skeins): quantity needed is, 5 (sweater size small) (5 (sweater size medium), 6 (sweater size large), 6 (sweater size X-large)) skeins.

• One pair each of:

Straight knitting needles in sizes 6 U.S. (4.25 mm) and

 8 U.S. (6 U.K.) (5.00 mm)

OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
• Use circular needles that are 29" long in a size 6.
• Cable needle.
• Stitch holders. (Looks like a large safety pin)
• 6 buttons, 3/4" diameter.

GAUGE (means if you knit a certain amount of stitches they should measure a certain length when done)
For this pattern, when you knit 25 stitches and 26 rows it will measure 4" in the fisherman pattern with size 8 needles.

TO INSURE PROPER SIZE, BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. If your gauge is wrong the sweater will not be the size you were trying to knit it to be. If your stitches look wrong at any point, carefully undo the stitches and re-knit them. Otherwise your sweater size will be wrong, or the completed pattern will look odd.
